Consejos de diseño web de un experto para tu página
Entrevista con Nils Pooker. Consejos de diseño web de un profesional
Hoy tenemos una entrevista con un auténtico profesional del diseño web; Nils Pooker de www.pookerart.de y autor del libro Der erfolgreiche Webdesigner (El diseñador web de éxito). En esta entrevista revela las tendencias actuales y algunos consejos personales… ¡No te la pierdas!
J: ¿Qué consejos tienes para conseguir que una página produzca beneficios rápidamente? ¿Hay líneas generales que seguir para conseguirlo?
N: Sí que las hay y son muy variadas. Aquí van algunos consejos:
- Lo más importante es una planificación exacta: ¿cuál es el objetivo y qué función tiene la página, cuál es su razón de ser? Intenta utilizar el método "elevador pitch". Imagínate que durante el transcurso hasta un sexto piso en el ascensor tienes tiempo para explicar de qué trata tu pa´gin web y qué se ofrece en ella.
- Segundo factor: análisis exhaustivo del grupo objetivo. Busca respuestas concretas a la pregunta de cuáles son las expectativas en cuanto a información y funciones de tu página por parte del grupo objetivo. ¿Qué usos concretos ofrece tu página? No hay que perder de vista que el grupo objetivo no es el cliente, sino el usuario final de la página. La página web tendrá éxito siempre que guste a tu grupo objetivo, independientemente de si gusta al cliente o no.
- El tercer factor es un contenido elaborado. El contenido es el factor más importante en cualquier medio.Se debe seguir esa máxima del periodismo que dice "piensa siempre en el lector", es decir, ten en cuenta las expectativas de los usuarios en lo referente al contenido de tu página.
- Diseño de la página. Este es un aspecto "peligroso" ya que tener una página "bonita" y atractiva, pero que no cumpla su función no sirve de nada. Es decir, la plantillas, los colores, las formas, el tipo de letras, etc., dependen de la función de la página y tienen que concordar con el grupo objetivo y el contenido. También se debe tener en cuenta la calidad técnica del contenido. Quien pueda tener problemas con la corrección ortográfica o gramatical del contenido, lo mejor que puede hacer es pedir ayuda en este sentido a algún amigo, conocido o incluso a alguien formado en dicho campo.
J: ¿Existen tendencias y modas actualmente en la creación de páginas web? ¿Qué es lo que cualquier creador de una página web tiene que tener en cuenta si quiere una página moderna y actual?
N: El diseño web es un sector que se mueve totalmente por tendencias. Todo el mundo conoce la expresión web 2.0. En la actualidad, junto a los requisitos técnicos son de gran importancia las exigencias de la versión web para móviles. Hoy día se navega con tabletas, notebooks, teléfonos móviles smartphone e incluso en pantallas tipo "mira-vecino-qué-tele-de-50-pulgadas-HD-cine-me-he-comprado". Lo ideal es que la página web se acople al navegador web de la versión móvil. Para los más expertos una única expresión: "responsive webdesign".
Es decir, la creación de la web tiene que ser de una representación sencilla para el visitante. Un diseño llamativo en colores neones con la escritura en formato chillón puede resultar atractiva para un usuario de 13 a 20 años, pero en un espacio exterior resultará una catástrofe a la hora de leer e, incluso en condiciones más tranquilas, para grupos de usuarios a partir de edades más maduras resultará desagradable y no se pararán a mirar. Hay que tener muy en cuenta el tamaño de letra, la distancia de interlineado, etc… Lo bueno; la experimentación está de moda. Haced pruebas sin cesar.
J: En tu opinión, ¿qué aspectos son totalmente inaceptables para una página web?
N: En función de los grupos objetivo o sector, plantillas inadecuadas junto con una estética forzada (letra ilegible) y contenidos poco cuidados (faltas de ortografía, contenido sobrecargado, tratamiento inadecuado para el grupo objetivo). Jimdo ofrece una gran selección de widgets y funciones, pero siempre se ha de tener en cuenta el grupo objetivo.
J: ¿Podrías aconsejar algunos enlaces para los usuarios de Jimdo en lo referente al diseño?

J: Para finalizar, tus cinco consejos más importantes para los usuarios de Jimdo.
Nils:
1.- Navegación: reducir las secciones de navegación a lo esencial. Las mínimas posible, pero no menos. Como regla, no se deben tener más de ocho secciones. Elige secciones claras y precisas (nada de "info" o similar).
2.- Texto e imágenes: leer en la pantalla cansa. Los usuarios escasean los textos, por lo que debes escribir frases cortas con un mensaje preciso. Intenta evitar los anglicismos y las palabras extranjeras que resulten de difícil comprensión para tu grupo objetivo. Evita igualmente una excesiva carga en las imágenes. Busca imágenes que sirvan de metáfora, esto hace de una foto algo especial.
3.- Diseño: Las plantillas Jimdo ya cuentan con una estructura profesional. Simplemente prueba distintos colores, tipos de letra, gráficos hasta dar con la combinación perfecta. Evita el uso de tonos de colores opuestos en la página: rojo con verde, violeta con amarillo, azul con naranja…
4.- Funciones: las necesarias. Que exista la posibilidad de hacer algo no implica que deba hacerse obligatoriamente. Una página actual con una entrada de blog del 12.06.2009 no es una página actual. Utiliza el libro de visitas o la integración de páginas como Flickr o Youtube solo cuando realmente se ofrezca algo relevante al usuario.
5.- Derecho: no se trata de hacer un trabajo de doctorado. Citar textos de terceros o utilizar textos de terceras fuentes es un tabú. Utiliza textos, materiales e imágenes propias o compradas (fotolia, istockphotos, etc., son muy baratos) y nombra los créditos (fuente, nombre del fotógrafo). Siempre se debe tener en cuenta los derechos de utilización en textos, imágenes, logos, animaciones, etc.

No como para poner rojos de envidia a los de taringa, pero los ingresos por ads empiezan a reflejarse en mi cuenta de editor de google.
